I will agree with the above posts. While a great skin design will certainly attract the new visitor's eye and make the site stand out from the thousands of other sites around, it is the content that make people return again and again. I myself must have signed up to over 50 such forums in the past. I only bother to return regularly to 3.
That said, there is nothing at all wrong with some "eye candy" as long as it doesn't distract from the main content. If the navigation is clear and evident, why shouldn't a site look great? |
