I thought you could use the one API key for all your sites.
Every couple of days I log in and click the validate weight button. It often changes when I do that.
I think it does it automatically every three days.

I thought the only reason they want the API key is to send queries to Google to find the position of your Keywords in the keyword tracker.
Without the API key you are limited to a few queries a day, with it you can query as many as you like.
