I don't make anything on my sites, but then none of them are commercial sites. I started out making personal sites and since then I have volunteered to do sites for organizations I belong to.

Meanwhile I have been daydreaming about making money somehow someday. My main plan was to learn as much as possible about webdesign while I still have a full time job, and then when I retire, start my webdesign business.

This thread got me thinking about putting together a website just for the purpose of placing Adsense on it. There is a topic I am familiar with that has a large potential audience, but there are already thousands of pages online already on this topic. Still, I may have an advantage, because I can offer a perspective most of the existing websites do not have.

Since I would have lots of competition if I do this, I need to figure out how to make it clear what my site has to offer that will be different, and most important, how to make mine stand out in the search engines.

Meanwhile, a little project of mine that I put online for the fun of it has already gotten over 8000 visits, & I'm making zero on it, cuz I put it on a Geocities site.

I see now that I should have gotten my own domain for it. If I had done that, would I be making anything on it?

I also need to figure out how to use a webhosting account for more than one domain name. I know, basic, but I am an amatuer.
