NeO - I might know someone who would be able to introduce a bill in Congress next year to combat these little (insert explicative).

A few problems with the no-call list.

Business phones cannot be placed on the list - the phone spammers can call all day long.

Charity and researchers are exempt. With rampant fraud, how do you know who's legit when they call - especially when it shows "incomplete data" "unknown" or "blocked" on the caller id?

The researchers I don't mind so much - I give them bogus answers on purpose and then watch the news to see how many other smartasses in the world like me jacked up the polls. Bush's approval rating at what % ??

The supposed charity organizations? Sure, kill some trees to send me donation forms as I won't give my credit card information over the phone -that'll get you on a long list of other charties quick; free mailing labels from DAV, WWF, FOB, and more - they come in handy this time of year.
