Terri I think the best expression to use is this... a bird in the hand is better than two in the bush... ? Does that make sense?

I felt the same way about my timeshare company, why in the world would I want to have competitors ads on my site? Well given the fact that timeshares are a bit more expensive than signing up for a seniors dating service... sales are less than sign ups... However I offer a one of a kind service... I list timeshares for FREE and take a commission on the back end... all of the other companies charge at least $500 up front... So I still get the listings (without even trying) but a lot of my traffic is not there to list they are there to buy... or shop even...

A lot of people will shop all over the net before seeing something they want to call about or buy... So if I have all of this traffic it just makes sense to make some kind of profit off of the traffic... so that's where Adsense comes in... And you can turn off your competitors through your account control panel... But the way I see it is this, If you're the best... then why would a little competition hurt? Might as well make a buck or two when you can... it all adds up!

Just my $0.02

oh yeah and Kirk~ if you don't have an account... then you can't play in the reindeer games (they are free and a nice little way to tell how many times people read through your post's)
