They're too busy trying to be sneaky... and that leaves a poor taste in my mouth!
Another for example... which I did mention above... Yahoo's messenger client is wildly popular and has a built in search function at the bottom of your messenger.
Since the Mod team here uses Yahoo Conference for our meetings I had to upgrade my messenger so that I could VOIP with Fabio one day... During the normal set up... (I always do advanced set up, so as to avoid all the extra crap they try to put on your system!) So after going through the advance set up I find that Words in my conversation are popping up search engine results... (What the hell?) So I look into it further... and as I start looking... now I have another damn toolbar on my IE! (I didn't put that there!)
So I had to go in with HiJackThis and pull out all the sneaky code that Yahoo thought would help them in the search engine wars... What really errked me was that I did the advanced set up... told the program NO I DON'T want all that extra crap! But they snuck it in anyways... Makes them seem like rats on a sinking ship!
BTW anyone that wants help taking that crap off of their system... pm me and I'll handle it for ya!
