You mentioned that you're getting a bannermanage license. I assume it's a script to rotate banner ads, right? Before purchasing one, check with your webhost...some offer free scripts integrated in the webhosting control panel. A banner rotation script might be right under your nose, without you knowing it!
As for resources, let me look through my bookmarks and see if I have anything good to pass on.
