On a side note, the ADA has actually been law since 1965, but has undergone several amendments and additions since its first enactment as a Title II law.
The Title I Amendment that encompasses Section 508 for WAI was added in 1990 - Happy 15th Annivesary.
WAI is a very real issue with real implications for site owners and webmasters. In a nutshell, if you owned a brick and mortar storefront, you wouldn't bar people from entering with a seeing eye dog would you? Then do your best to ensure that your online real estate does not hinder users in the same way ...
