| I'm still on the fence with CJ -- I really like their growing variety of sponsors for nearly anyone's tastes, and the convenient account options that Debbie described. However, you have to have both a site condusive to visitors clicking links and a decent head for advertising, to make money with them IMO......I've been at less than $10 for well over a year.......but I haven't tried very hard either -- just never been a big deal for me :dunno
Heard good things about Amazon's too IF your site would naturally lead to book sales (heard that if it's not, don't even bother)......I tried it with BHS, but never got very serious. Been meaning to try it again -- there's at least a couple PHP scripts that are designed to rotate and track Amazon ads, keep wanting to try them out too.
I've also read that text links get the best results, and smaller or vertical banners get more attention than the usual 468x60 banners -- makes sense to me, since by now we're all so used to scrolling down past the banners at the tops of pages.
I definitely agree with Nan's point about using top companies. I know I'm more likely to investigate a product or service if it's linked to a name I'm already familiar with and trust. No-name places wouldn't be as likely to get my business....... |
