| I would love a USA ribbon. The 9-11 disaster had a great meaning to me. Two of my Miami neighbors lost sons in the World Trade Center. In addition, when it happened I was at work. Some of my women clients were watching tv and told me what happened. I could hardly believe what I was seeing and immediately tried to call my daughter who lived in Queens at the time.
Could not get thru to her on the phone and was almost hysterical. Tony finally got ahold of her later. Christine saw the whole thing out her window and it was horrible! Along with so many, many others, my son in law's business went down the toilet and they could not remain in NY. They are still paying off debts incurred at that time.
We all decided to meet in Las Vegas which is one of the reasons Tony, Erik and I moved here.
One of our friends used to call on a customer in the WTC every week on the same day. On this particular week, he made the call a day early and escaped the disaster. Tony's NY office had been located in the WTC. Thank God, they moved elsewhere three weeks before it happened. I am still angry and sad that this could have happened here (or anywhere)......
I have always been very patriotic to the point of "My country, right or wrong" and have a big scar on my soul because of 9-11. |
